August 17 - August 18 - The U.S. sinks 418 containers of nerve gas into the Gulf Stream near the Bahamas. (aint that just fucking great)
October 15 - The Baltimore Orioles defeat the Cincinnati Reds in Games 5 of the World Series, 9-3, to win the series 4 games to 1 for their 2nd World Championship.

I did like Cat Stevens back then but that isn't his name anymore and he would probably vote for Obama while praising mohammad at the same time with a table clothe on his islamic head.
Loved it when the O's beat the Reds (and even more when Reggie Jackson and the A's took over MLB until the Yankees got Reggie)
And I never throw stuff away so I still have that original Black Sabbath album downstairs in my record collection
And that same year I remember this local store by the school I went to in the 5th grade was only .24 per gallon........not that I ever bought any.......I had a bike and a horse back then
