I really hate it when (warning gun control thread)

People try to debate gun control.....especially when they don't even know what the gun control laws of this country are.

there was a thread on the frontpage of ESPN where I really made a few of the extreme guys look pretty stupid when they were talking about banning guns...

They have not even researched the Supreme Courts past rulings on the 2nd amendment (they've only reviewed it 5 times in history... it's not too hard to do) They don't even know what the Brady Bill is, let alone what it says and how it works.... they don't know what the NICS background check is and how it works... It's really amazing that people can try and be so passionate about a subject that they actullay know very little about....


One guy kept making "suggestions" on things for more gun laws, and I would simply point out that his suggestion was in fact already a law on the books...

When will people understand that a criminal DOESN'T CARE what laws there are against them having a gun.... LOL They will get them anyway....it doesn't matter if you or I say they can't have them.

AND all somebody has to do is take a look at the war on drugs snf how succesful the government has been at keeping drugs from beong run into the country torealize they would never be able to keep guns from being run into the country as well...

It's just amazing to me how naive people actually are on some things.... blows my mind really.

Then it also just amazes me that they have never really delved into the2nd amendment and what the founding fathers actually wrote about it...(not in the constitution but in their own personal writings and veiws.. if you look into those there is absolutley no question on what their feelings towards being able to defend you home, family and country itself was..


I always like to point out Ben Franklins famous quote..."anyone that is willing to give up one ounce of freedom for either safety or security deserves neither.." That one statement speaks volumes about the difference between hard, brave people and the wussification of this country in the last 50 years or so.

Gun control is a socialist/communist/dictatorship thing.......one of the first things Hitler did after taking power as dictator was to.....take away the guns of ordinary citizens.

Now why would he want to do that? Why do socialists want to take away your guns?
