The kick knifed through the thick fog and split the uprights at Memorial Stadium, giving the Colts a 10-7 victory in sudden-death overtime.
In a flash, fans swarmed the field. Down came the goal posts. Up went Toni Linhart, on someone's shoulders.
Linhart's 31-yard field goal defeated the rival Miami Dolphins late in 1975 and all but clinched Baltimore's first of three straight AFC East titles.
It was the kick of a lifetime for Linhart, who died Sunday morning of cancer, at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium. He was 70.

bluehoo Yes I remember that game and many others since he was with the Colts when I was in HS and I made sure I watched every Colts game they would put on tv back then and that was more than you might think since the Seatoucans were not invented yet.

And I am the Class of 1976 the same year Tony Linhart was the NFL's leading scorer!!

Back then kicking a FG was nothing like it is today.

The Colts were 11-3 that season coached by Ted Marchibroda

The bad part was they had to play Pittsburgh in the playoffs.

R.I.P

If Im not mistaken, that was a MNF game, The kick sailed right towards me if it wasnt for that stupid net that was there I would have been in a melee for that ball..My Dad wouldnt allow me to run on the field with the others, caus he knew those goal posts would be coming down.

No it was a sunday game with Bert Jones and the only Colts TD was by Lydell Mitchell on a short run in the 4th qtr and then Linhart kicked that game winner in OT

Garo went 0-2 kicking for the Fish so he only scored one point with that extra point and Toni Linhart had 4 of those points for the Colts

The next game the Colts beat the Pats to end up 10-4 and as usual played the Steelers in the playoffs and lost 28-10 wtf
