Anymore news on the encryption with the FTA box?
I am seriously considering picking on up to give it a test run, but I don't want to waste $$$ if they are going to lock it down soon.
I would really like to pick up an FTA box and build a myth box for my media...... (between newegg, tiger and fry's I can build a MORE than capable opensource media center on the cheap)

Well right now my reciever is down as is most of the others out there but there are tests being run on getting some channels back if you want to try one of these other ways to get the data for a reciever (I'm going to wait until I can just get the BIN download so I can just USB/Flash install it on my current reciever)
But I hope they hurry up with that.
I have only seen one site that claims to have the new NAG3 code but they show no eveidence and you have to give them your credit card info to even try the one month version for $12.99 to even see if their site has the new code or lets you download it.

Yeah, I know a little more about it now and how they usb flash the firmware to get it done. Hopefully they get it done, and I will probably end up getting one when they do.
So can it get network feeds or are those encrpyted too? I know they have the converter boxes out, but I don't know if the network feed is scrambled and then decrypted at the station at the local level and then sent out to the boxes or not...
I swear it's like they want everybody to pay $100 a monthat least for cable now-a-days....
It's crazy... and this darn comcast wanted to charge me $10 to drop HBO from package as a "processing fee" I was like WTF? All you have to do is go into the system and deselect it from the package and you want to charge me $10 for THAT?
And they wonder why people pirate the shit?

Well when the Nag3 change started the XXX channels went first and then most of the movie channels and then last was all the regular channels including all the network affiliates around the country.
The east coast and Denver timezone network channels were my favorites so now that they are all gone for now I have to watch stuff on the Seattle channels and my regular Dish Net channels.
I just hope they get the new Nag3 code out before football season so I don't have to watch on the pc.
NFusion does have a few Nag3 channels so far but the code changes too often and you have to use one of the not so safe methods to get the codes so I will wait.......and give a report here when it happens too
