2013 Weekly Picks, Results and Standings
Each week, I will post the picks, results and standings in this thread. Players should continue to post their picks in the current week's "Lines" thread. Any problems or questions, shoot me a message.
Week 1 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure.
Week 2 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure.
Week 3 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. Total of 12 points out of a possible 119 points across all BC players. We suck! Well, Bears did get his Parlay and ColtsKurt and PrimeTime came through with 2 best bets each. But, still, you know....WE SUCK!
Week 4 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. Better. Much better, players! Two perfectas (Kurt and Yours Truly) and three parlays (Seabird, Cravn, and Magic). Just remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint. At least until the division breakup occurs in another 2-3 weeks.
Week 5 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. ColtsKurt continues his best best streak upping his record to an astounding (yet uncharacteristic) 9-1. Kobesgame recovered from a very long, dry spell to hit a Perfecta (her last perfecta was in week 3 of the 2009 season...over 4 years ago!).
Week 6 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. PackerBacker's Parlay and best bet move him up into the thick of things in the standings. Tom Brady's last-second heroics cost CravnRavn a Perfecta. (and the Seatoucans stupidity cost me 4 Magical points) and IndyColt got himself a Goose Egg.
Week 7 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. The Chiefs and Ravens losses clobbered a lot of players. No special point prizes this week. And, you know what's coming within the next few days? Nope, not a functioning Obamacare web site (that'll take a few months). What's coming is DIVISIONAL SEEDINGS!!! Look for a notice coming soon.
Week 8 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. BigDrew hits a Parlay but the Seattle failure to cover blows his True Perfecta chances. The KC and SEA "losses" cost a ton of points for players this week. Division races nice and tight -- everyone keeps trying for that elusive True Perfecta. Think they'll ever learn? Nah! Not these suckers.
Week 9 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. Two Parlays (ColtsKurt and PackerBacker who both strengthen their division leads), and two Goose Eggs, =SA= and BlueShoes. There was only a minor shuffling of standings in the divisions. It's been said before...there is a theoretical maximum total of 112 points (16 x 7) each week. This week, this illustrious group of piss-poor pickers (the PPP's) batted .125 totaling an awesome 14 points!!!
Week 10 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. ColtsKurt pulls away from the Ark division players with a Perfecta. What had been uncharacteristic is becoming the norm. Nice going, Kurt. Just don't break your arm patting yourself on the back - Cravn and Ark have a notorious history. Other divisions? Y - A - W - N.
Week 11 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. As CravnRavn noted, there are lots of fall colors in the grid this week and, as Kurt noted, the yellows seem to have peaked! Races tightening up in the Lacey and Fresh divisions. The PUSHES hit a lot of players hard, especially Arkman and Magic who lost Perfectas with their push picks.
Week 12 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. (I will give you all my reverse perfecta so you can use it thursday
)
Big Drew's two best bet wins propels (is it possible to propel a 200+ pound young man?) into first place in the Fresh division. But for the Carolina push, Drew would have hit a TP. Kobesgame is steadily creeping up as well in that very tight division. CravnRavn hits his second parlay of the season and, while not within striking distance yet, with Thanksgiving games and the weekend game play this week, it's possible for him to overtake ColtsKurt in the Ark division. The Lacey division is arguably the tightest division (don't we all like tight lace?) with 5 points separating last and first place. Let's get ready for Turkey Day! Big movements (now there's an image) are possible over the next week.
Thanksgiving - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. The Green Bay loss and the game's push did a TON of damage to Turkey Day picks. Only minor movement in the Lacey and Fresh divisions. The race to division championships is still anyone's game except, perhaps, in the Ark division where ColtsKurt has uncharacteristically maintained his lead for several weeks.
Week 13 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. Congratulations to Kobesgame for her PERFECTA and jump into first place in the Fresh Division.
Week 14 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. A change in leadership in the Lacey Division as Woods' Perfecta allows him to move into first place in the tightest division in the challenge. IndyColt also made news and moved up in the standings with another Lacey Perfecta. Eh-Say (=SA=) hits a True Perfecta and closes in on PackerBacker in the Tesla division. Three more regular season weeks to try to lock in your two point bonuses as division winners, folks.
Week 15 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. Congrats to IndyColts for his Perfecta and leap into first place in the Lacey Division. I suck and fell down into 3rd place with one of the few Goose Eggs this year. Magic's Parlay put him back into the thick of things in the Tesla division. It's still anyone's game in the Tesla and Lacey divisions. ColtsKurt holds a commanding lead in the Ark division.
Week 16 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. Tough week for players with only minor movement within the divisions. Wood20ks recaptured first in the very tight Lacey division; ColtsKurt padded his lead in the Ark division and has locked up first place heading to week 17. Except for Lizzard's trailing position in the Fresh division, the other divisions are pretty much anyone's game for the last week. Be mindful of the "Hedge Rule" and get your picks in early!!
Week 17 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. The wild finish in the Tesla division saw Magic hit a True Perfecta to jump from last to first and claim the division championship. Nice goin', oh bearded one! In the Ark division, ColtsKurt finished with two best bets to win the division going away in what had been projected as a tough division but ended up looking much like the AFC South. IndyColt is lookin' good in lace and makes it a family affair with ColtsKurt as he claims bragging rights in the Lacey division. Finally, our resident lawyer, Kobesgame, showed everyone she's been digging through the Martindale-Hubbell law digests for selection advice.
How 'bout a nice hand for this year's division champs?

They each enter the playoffs with 2 starting bonus points.
The two wild cards, by virtue of being the two next highest points winners outside of the division winners, are Wood20ks (we really should consider a point deduction given the Bears play against the Packers) and =SA=, our resident author. Each enters the playoffs with one starting bonus point.
The bottom line? It's all about the playoffs, folks, and no one should be discouraged by the bonus points these players have earned -- but earn them, they did!
Good luck in the playoffs and Happy New Year!!

Houston won the game 30-24. They were 9 point favorites so they failed to cover. Sorry. Good try. (Seabird and Magic would have preferred a Houston cover as well.)CraigisGreen wrote:houston was a winner in week 2 need that for my parlay!

GREAT JOB GUYS ! Blue Magic Kurt my Seahawks are coming to town should be a good game. We are still down two linemen so you may have Wilson running around all day. But you will have to deal with the best Defense in the League right now.
