I downplay the day because being so close to the holiday, I know everyone has alot going on. I couldn't care less about getting older, I just don't want it to be a distraction from the important stuff going on this week.

You want to talk about old football rivalries, talk to my son Noel. He's a Lehigh grad and the annual Lehigh-Lafayette game is, I believe, the oldest rivalry in the country. Noel goes to a bar in Portland annually with his Lehigh shirt on and has a blast. Easily well over 100 years.

Many cities (Portland, OR included) have sports bars to which Lehigh or Lafayette grads flock on the day of the big game. Noel always makes sure to attend. We (Nancy and I) were there for one of those games while Noel was at Lehigh. Unbelievable traditions and great history.
