You too Kurt
Here in NW SF aka Washington we have global cooling and wind and rain still but the Sun did just make it out from behind the clouds.
Here is what we have for the first couple weeks in June (left-wing loons here don't notice the weather since they sit in coffee shops smoking weed all day)
Re: Happy Summer
Memorial Day weekend was fantastic here. Low 80s. Monday was mid 80s.
Listened to the race while lining 11 - 83.5" tall screened porch openings with 1x2 cedar boards. Cut, drill, screw-in. That equates to 23 - 12' - 1x2s. (Getting new screens and we'll have frames made that will attach to the boards.)
The screen guy wanted an extra $1000 to do the boards. I spent $150 and about 7 hours and a six pack...

. . . .
It is POURING fucking rain here right now and today is the day the Hughes satellite guy is supposed to show up to install a Dish for the internet so I can finally call Centurylink and tell them to fuck off.
Re: Happy Summer
Long story short, summer has sucked, haven't been to the beach since March the mrs health has really declined, she was diagnosed with RA in April, she has it throughout, with the worst of it in her left knee. She under goes some injections starting next week, if they don't work it's knee replacement. Don't know how she does her job, she has been a baker for 25 years and the RA is in both hands.
On the bright side 4 years I planted the top of a pineapple, and this year a pineapple has appeared .

Re: Happy Summer
Time for the Mrs to retire and sit by the pool watching your pineapples grow
I have been in and out of bed sick as a dog for the last 5 weeks but as usual if I feel sort of good I go right outside and try to catch up on the yard projects.
I have one last concrete section to do and I got the concrete 6 weeks ago but just yesterday got the area set up for the concrete and a blue stone and saved all the rock I dug out to add to the concrete and the power line down to the garage runs right through this so I have to turn off the power and run it through a pipe I had in my parts stash and finally after decades have this part that connects from the house to the underground wire I buried back in around 1994.........didn't get anything done today but run the mower on about 2 cups of gas since I ran out.
Hell I didn't even get out to pick the blackberries......that was my plan for the day.......but I did water a couple things and.......for some reason feed the pet squirrel and the sort of pet chipmunk.
So I am sitting watching the damn 82in HDTV that had a interior fan fail that is impossible to replace so I have to have a big fan blowing on the damn thing (with the sound cranked up).........I am trying to save up for one of those 80in 4K UHD version this winter (my 60th is in January and I always buy my own b-day stuff)

I hear ya. And sympathize.
Anita was diagnosed RA 25 yrs ago. Suspected Lupus, but didn't test positive for that until 7 years had passed. She's had a foot rebuilt, two hips replaced, a thumb fused. Still needs two knees, and the other foot. I bet the first knee comes before 2017 is over. Her hands are, for the most part, deformed. She also has heart and lung involvement and the liver numbers are watched closely, due to the 25 years of prednisone she's taken... that stuff will kill her insides, but it also allows her to function.
She's been a "test dummy" for so many drug trials. Pills, self injected shots, infusions (like chemo). Hell, one of the shots she gave herself was $6000 a shot. They'd send shipments that were $60K/delivery. (We did't pay that... good insurance and most drug companies have non-need based assistance programs to pick up the balance)
Tough tough woman.

Those 4K UHDs prices are dropping like crazy. TVs are cheap to buy, these days.

I can't wait..........should have one before the next SB and it has to be at least 80in
The Mrs always tells me to just buy one of the 65in we see at Walmart every time because they are only $1000 but after having this 82in for 5 years I can't go smaller

The left knee will be the first one replaced, she has to have 3 injections first, we suspect they will fail I had 12 of them in my spine that failed. She is on prednisone now, its not helping g her hands or her knee. We start injections tomorrow afternoon.
She's starting to miss work now, has me concerned for the near future.

Re: Happy Summer
Anita had a cortisone shot in each knee a couple weeks back. Always hurts for a couple days, then the relief. That puts off knee replacement surgery for at least 6 mos, per the doc.
Got that Christmas in New York trip with the kids planned for mid-Dec... hope she can hobble around.

Just getting back from our first vacation of the year, it went well, she did her share of shelling, we drove to sanibelle Wednesday morning, shelled, then drove back up to Treasure Island, spent 3 days on the gulf coast walking the beach taking their shells. Happy wife, happy life so they say.

Re: Happy Summer
Good for you, Crav... Sanibelle is great.
Our next travel will be cold weather when we take our kids and spouses to New York City/Times Square in mid December. No grandkids, just the adults. Sat, Sun, and return Mon afternoon.
How 'bout them Colts!?
