2015 Weekly Picks, Results and Standings Review10

Each week, I will post the picks, results and standings in this thread.  Players should continue to post their picks in the current week's "Lines" thread.  Any problems or questions, shoot me a message.

Week 1 - Picks and Results for your printing (and bragging?) pleasure.  ColtsKurt and Wood20ks open the season hitting PARLAYS while Cravn, kobesgame, and PackerBacker hit both of their best bets.  It's a long season, guys and girl, so keep on truckin'.

Week 2 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure.  After last night's Colts "game" I have no urge to write anything about football results.  ColtsKurt (who has several season tickets to Colts "games") is doing all he can to supplement his income by picking well in the Bookie Challenge.  That's all I got.
(but it looks like 6 players got both of the BB's right but no parlays)

Week 3 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure.  shipokekid hits a PARLAY and, unlike Big Ben, vaults into second place.  PERFECTAs by SA and Agent 99 allow them to join the upper crust of players (and I do mean "crust").  ColtsKurt's two best bets keeps him in first place (be advised that this will not go on for long, folks).  On to week four!

Week 4 - Picks and Results for your printing pleasure. The freakin' rookie, robbybrandfas, hits a Parlay (the only one this week) and does his best movin' on up George Jefferson impersonation.  But, just to hold out hope for all you dregs at the bottom. . .After 4 weeks only one True Perfecta separates last place from first place.  Lots of red this weeks, players, and only a total of 11 best bet points out of a possible 34!  That is, we're batting under .333 as a group (realizing that such an average would get one into the baseball HOF).  Pure and simple:  we, along with Russel Wilson, suck!

Week 5 - Picks and Results for your viewing pleasure.  Big Drew hits a Perfecta and rolls into a first place tie with ColtsKurt who could manage only a single best bet.  But, we also had a rarity this week: PackerBacker hit a True Goose Egg (5 different losers)!!!.  We should thank him for this week's laugh and consider awarding -5 points for such a performance.  See all the green at the top of the grid and all the red at the bottom of the grid?  Kinda, sorta, almost might have something to do with the player standings don't ya think?  One more week or so and we break into divisions so get your pickin' hats on and position yourselves accordingly.

After making a trip to the post office I see once again we have members who have NOT sent in their *CHIPS* and you know who you are and are running out of time (which means you don't get to wait until next month) Rolling Eyes  and we will soon be putting everyone into the Conferences very soon Blueshoes will give you more info in the near future.  Division splits occur after week 7 is over  (2 more weeks).  At that point any non-chippers become ineligible for prize winnings.

UPDATE:  Despite what Comcast support ("Ryan") told me last week, a bit of research on my part (don't recall ever getting an Email from Comcast) reveals that as of October 8, Comcast shut down their personal web page service!!  Right now, files that I've already uploaded remain visible on the Comcast web site but I'm unable to upload any new ones.   I have set up an alternate web site which offers free web hosting services so things should now be back to normal for the grids in that you can bounce backward to a prior grid and you can print the current grid.  Did I mention COMCAST SUCKS?!

Week 6 - Picks and Results for your viewing and printing pleasure. BigDrew retains his slim hold on first place.  SA's two best bets allowed him to jump into a second place tie with ColtsKurt (zero points!!) and Wood20ks (1 best bet).  There were several zero-point players this week but no goose eggs (although PrimeTime tried his best with only the Detroit push saving him).  Congrats to R&R Hawks for his PARLAY and 5-place upward jump.  One more week in the big pool before we all break up and leap into the kiddie pools, folks.  Non-chip players after next weekend may well be relegated to their own division if things don't change.

Week 7 - Picks and Results for your viewing pleasure.  In the last week of picking before the division splitup occurs, there was a lot ogf green but relatively few overall points scored.  The first 4 places remained unchanged.  Kamikaze's parlay and 1 best bet gave him 4 points and a major leap up in the standings.  PackerBacker had 2 best bets.  Look for division split announcements later in the week.  And, players, get your picks in early this week as there is yet another London game (and early first-game kickoff) on Sunday.

Week 8 - Picks and Results for your viewing and printing pleasure.  =SA= (Eh-Say) hits a PERFECTA and solidifies his hold on the Tesla Division.  He's gonna hold that spot for at least another week even if he sits it out as he has a commanding 8 point lead over kobesgame.  The failure of Atlanta to cover and the Baltimore push cost several players key points.  Onto next week and the division battles.  No more London games scheduled for the year so you can rest easy on Sunday morning.

Week 9 - Picks and Results for your viewing and printing pleasure.  Holy crap!  Four GOOSE EGGS (Arkman, Lizzard, R&R Hawks and BlueShoes) and three PERFECTAS (Eh-Say, kobesgame, and Cravn)!!  As to the divisions: The Ark is sinking...two points for the entire boat!!  Our lace is full of holes...only one point for the entire negligee!  Tesla, however, showed more than a little spark as kobesgame and Eh-Say both hit PERFECTAs and Magic picked up both best bets.  And, lastly, the Fresh division came out smelling like a rose after Cravn's PERFECTA and every player scoring at least one point.   Onto week 10!

Week 10 - Picks and Results for your viewing and printing pleasure.  14 games this weekend and 10 of them outright winners by the underdog and 11 of them covering.   All that aside, the kamikazekid hits a PERFECTA and flew his plane into first place.  Go figure.  shipokekid has to settle for a PARLAY when the Eagles grabbed his True Perfecta and flew out the window.  As a group, we truly, truly suck.  Don't you think?

Week 11 - Picks and Results for your viewing and printing pleasure.  We had a rare event this week in The Challenge!  R&R Hawks hit a TRUE GOOSE EGG (5 teams picked, all wrong).  The New England/Buffalo push cost Kamikazekid what would have been his second Perfecta in a row while yours truly continued to truly suck at this game.  There were no changes in the division standings.  Look for the special Thanksgiving day spreads to show up tomorrow then the weekend picks as normal.  You've got a chance to do some catching up with the extra round this week.

Turkey Day - Picks and Results for your viewing and printing pleasure.  Turkey Day saw one PERFECTA by Wood20ks and two PARLAYS by ColtsKurt and Eh-Say.  There is some serious point-scoring going on in the BC this year by a handful of players.  Maybe the rest of us, now that we've recovered from our tryptophan stupors, can turn things around for the weekend.

Week 12 - Picks and Results for your viewing and printing pleasure.  No changes in the division standings as a result of a pretty poor showing for the week.  Kudos to Magic, R&R Hawks, and Lizzard for hitting both of their best bets.  Parlays were out of the picture even before the late Sunday afternoon games started and CravnRavn came through with a GOOSE EGG but he's happy anyway after his Ravens thoroughly trounced the Brownies.  5 more weeks to go to catch a division first place finish and its two bonus points heading into the playoffs.

Week 13 - Picks and Results for your viewing and printing pleasure.  In the Fresh division, kamikazekid took a flying leap into first place when he hit a TRUE PERFECTA.  The other Fresh players didn't see what hit them but the division, as a whole, scored more points than any other division so there's that.  Arkman finally got his boat moving a bit and hit a PERFECTA as did yours truly, BluShoes to tighten things up in their respective divisions.  In fact, all players in the Lacey division hit both best bets.  Eh-Say retains a substantial lead over kobesgame and the rest in the Tesla division.  Having said all that, there's no one who is entirely out of it with 4 weeks to go before the playoffs.  March on!

Week 14 - Picks and Results for your viewing and printing pleasure.  With his first PERFECTA of the year, Arkman puts up his jib and sails into second place in the Ark Division!  Not to be outdone for bragging rights, Wood20ks hits another PERFECTA (and his fourth PARLAY of the year) to regain first place in the Fresh Division.  Finally, Magic took a leap of faith and tried for the True Perfecta only to blow both best bets and settle for a 3-point PARLAY.  3 more weeks to make your divisional moves.

Week 15 - Picks and Results for your viewing and printing pleasure.  Only one change in position this week, when shipokekid moved up a notch in the Ark Division on the strength of his PERFECTA.  BlueShoes also hit a PERFECTA to move into a tie for 2nd place in the very tight Lacey Division.  Little movement in the Tesla Division thanks to the Jets/Dallas push and Wood20ks threatens an all-time Bookie Challenge record by hitting another PERFECTA to get to 35 points with 2 weeks still remaining in the season.  His 5 PARLAYS have to be close to a record (sorry, I haven't had time to do the research).  CravnRavn's PARLAY allowed him to move up a tad in the Fresh Division but he's still 7 points back of 2nd place.

Week 16 - Picks and Results for your viewing and printing pleasure.  shipokekid's PARLAY and a single best bet yields 4 points and propels him into first place in the Ark division.  Except for PackerBacker, all others in that division still have a shot with one week remaining.  The Lacey division is full of holes with only one best bet point (ColtsKurt)  for the group.  BlueShoes' GOOSE EGG showed he has as much skills as a Colts quarterback under pressure. Still, it remains the tightest division with 2 ponts separating first from 3rd place.  Eh-Say has locked up a first place finish in the Tesla division with an 8-point lead and, in the Fresh division, it's a 2-man race for division honors.  Remember, each division winner gets 2 bonus points heading into the playoff weeks.  Two wild cards (across all divisions) each will get one bonus point.  Let the cheering begin!

Week 17 - Picks and Results for your viewing and printing pleasure.  shipokekid hits a TRUE PERFECTA for 7 points and solidly ends in first place in the Ark division.  BigDrew nearly matched him but for the Cheatriots loss to Miami and so had to settle for 2 best bet points and one of the WILD CARD seasonal finishes.  ColtsKurt, Eh-Say and
Wood20Ks held their divisional leads and, lastly, kamikaze's seasonal total of 33 points awarded him the second wild card 1-point bonus going into the playoffs.  We all get thrown back into a single group for the playoffs with the four division winners and the two wildcard finishers enjoying their bonus points to start the first playoff weekend.  It's still anybody's game!!!

Ah I know how ya feel about this but I still remember the 80's how they sucked and didn't have any way to be better........in that Jets game they actually looked good several times but then screwed up things like nice runs by Gore being called back with the flags and TY having the injury problem and how the O-line needs to give Luck another second or two to get a good pass off to those good WR's and TE's we have.

Luck has to learn that holding that ball in one hand when you try to run is STUPID

ALL defenders dream of the day that they get to knock the shit out of a QB and he tends to hand that to them.

But several times the D-line stuffed the run and then would get a stupidass flag.

I will still watch those goofy kids sunday if I can find it online........main thing is I am half asleep during those 10am games lol

(btw remember those links we had last season?.....most of them got FBI'd cowboy )

OH..... a Mason question!

Now that makes more sense!!

Well in fact it is on my grandfathers of the pasts grave stones back in N. Carolina and one for me too.

Yeah I have made one or two things out of concrete and stones here king

Not that I hang out at the local Mason building in town.

As I type a Cessna just crashed on the 17th fairway at the local golf course (formerly called Chevy Chase now called Discovery Bay)

I hope to make it back there to check out NW North Carolina where there are still many distant relatives since 1800

You must have Masons in the family since you said that  cheerstoyou

Yessir. Dad was a 33rd, I am/was (no longer pay dues) a 32nd. Masonry, the Scottish Rite, and the Shriners were all big pieces of my parent's lives. Mom's new beau, is a 33rd. Both dad and Roger were Potentate of our local shrine temple, Murat. Back in 1985 I went through the memory work required to become a MM. Dad was Potentate is 1986, so I went through the process so I could be one of his aids during his year in office.

It unfortunate how things have fallen off for the fraternal organizations... in '86 Murat's membership was at about 30,000. Today, about 2000, with less than 100 considered active, from what I hear. But, times change and people's priorities change too... Not too many have the time to be an active member anymore. Marching in parades just doesn't have the appeal it once did, apparently. wtf

A had a feeling you a Freemason (secret handshake) cheerstoyou

Freemasons are still around the world but I mainly was interested in the stone work and the buildings we still see today all the way back to Solomons Temple

Even the buildings in our country are great (and of course what GW I did in D.C. 220 years ago)

Stone Masons leave things they build that will last for thousands of years (so my giant sequoias will still be here with my Kingdom)

Had I known that, we would have toured that Scottish Rite Temple, there in the picture. Been in there many times. Irreplaceable. Had an opportunity to insure that building once, back in the mid 90's… only 1 insurance company nationwide would even consider it. Black Forest wood throughout. Fantastic place.

Specifically for another 3 days. The two upcoming Prime Time games could be frightening to watch. Especially the New England...they will pull out all stops to run up the score as much as possible on the team that, in their mind, opened up the "deflategate" flood gates. Brady may well put up 5-6 touchdowns against the boys in blue.

Hey Fellas, As much as I would like the points the person who made the week 4 picks did not get mine correct, they have the NYG and the Saints in my Parlay giving me a successful Parlay but in reality I wrote the Denver Broncos and Detroit who failed to cover the spread so in face I only get 1 point. Thanks for trying for me lol.
