A few months back, I mentioned the back was out again. Then, a couple weeks back... once again.

Got the word this am. Going under the knife. Doc said I have "a big old juicy blown disk." If it was just pain, we could deal with therapy and cortisone shots. However, the leg has atrophied down rapidly... That's what made them slide over to the surgical solution... whatever it takes. Tired of this step, drag. Step, drag bullshit.

I'm too young for this bullshit.

Who is doing your surgery CK?

Dr. Shapiro at Goodman Campbell did mine.

Highly recommend.

I would never let a doc put the knife to my back  sucks

All the guys I know that did just ended up with more back problems.

And I just used the skills of knowing how to NOT screw up my back over and over by doing the basics like not bending over at the waist to pick anything up and instead bend my knees and squat down to pick anything up and still can do that with 80lb bags of ready mix at 56 years old.

And am back to weightlifting again.

I did say I would retire from golf last season but I may give it another shot.

There is no way a surgery would have fixed the nerve problem and the numb left leg so I just figured out how to get around that problem.......well except I can't play basketball or dunk anymore but that happens to anyone that played basketball after 40 (42 in my case)

And Kurt you don't seem like the kind of guy who lifts any heavy stuff in your suit and you can afford a comfortable chair  lol

See the surgeon Monday morning to get all the details.

Actually "under the knife" is outdated. Its all done arthroscopic now. It will likely be outpatient, but beyond that… ?

In the long run, this will be all WIN. This is surely the disk that was the culprit the last two episodes… fix this up and I should be as good as new. Well, minus the picking up of heavy things wrong…  sucks

I have a doc for you Kurt  lol

You may remember I showed that youtube video my neighbors made of their bobcat that is as big as a dog jumping around in their house chasing one of those helicopter toys.........well yesterday it came up sick so they took it to a animal surgeon who did major surgery removing part of it's intestine because it was clogged up for some reason (probably ate one of the neighbors chickens or one of the wild ducks when they let it run wild again the other day) and the doc said it was about to croak unless he did this so he asked if they wanted it done and of course it is this wacky chicks favorite child (yeah she actually has a daughter smaller than the cat) so it was taken care of AND the surgeon told her it was actually part bobcat and part lynx!!

No wonder damn cat weighs almost 80lbs  whoa

She got it when it was a baby but I can't find that picture right now.

UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE

Kurt first off good luck to you,

You know I've had 3 of them, after all 3 I was able to rehab and return to work at UPS, the 4th time, we refused the surgery caus I was in my late 40s and scar tissue was starting to become an issue. So yes they will get you back to some normalcy, I'd sell the golf clubs and you might not be tooning this year.

Hope you are having a disectomy, and not a fusion
