to the acreage I have by the lake.....

I checked Realtor.com and they have it up for about 90K right now..... but it would probably cost 20-30K to get it moved though....and then rehabbing it to get it up to par as well would probably run another 40K minimum. BUT it would be a beautiful piece of history eh?

Maybe they would let me take a look at it with my digital camera, a tape measure and my laptop so I could maybe recreate it somewhere else? (For alot less money)

Not bad.....I like the Victorian style of course.

But I still want that one here on the island for a low price of $8,000,000,000

lol

I noticed Indy has lots of brick houses which were cool but is there still many of the old 3 story Victorians there?

I have a few pic on one of my pc's.....

Right now I am messing around bidding on another Rolls Royce......it has been on ebay for a while and I know the guy isn't going to let me have it unless I pay closer to $60,000

joker

Yes, there are still many victorian's in the older neighborhoods more towards the downtown area... Some have been rehabbed and restored to their former beauty and others haven't been touched yet...

I remember back about 15-20 years ago you could buy many of them for $1 as part of the downtown revitalization project... And the folks that bought them and brought them back turned a pretty penny for their efforts when more professionals started moving back downtown.

LOL I wish I still had the information on the 5000Sq ft victorian I found in Brazil Indiana about 7 years ago that they only wanted 50K for.... It was a private listing and the headline went... "5000sq ft home for sale, Evil Entity involved" I went and looked it over, but the only way to fix that place was with gas and a match... the funny thing was the guy that owned the house wouldn't set foot in it, wouldn't even meet me to give me the keys... he left them with the next-door neighbor... I guess at one time it had been a funeral home so it had the "haunted" reputation... I never saw or heard anything though.. bs The cool thing about the house was that it was old enough that it actually still had a "spirit room" in the basement (where I suppose the morg part of the parlor was..) the spirit rooms were completely round rooms that were built in the MUCH older homes and the legend went that the 'spirits' would get directed to the round room and not be able to find their way out of it again... The only other place I had seen an actual spirit room was in my great-grandmother's farmhouse in Pennsylvania...

NOW if I had known that the Ghosthunters show was going to be so huge, I would have bought that old place and turned it into a "haunted" Bed and Breakfast for all the amatuer "ghosthunters" that seem to love to travel all over the country investigating those old homes with a little bit of history... laughing

There IS an Old Victorian farmhouse right down the road on US 36 in Avon that is just sitting empty right now, but needs alot of work and would need to be moved... (and shutting down US 36 and getting the powerlines down etc in that corrider would be astronomical $$$$, plus the price of land around there now is close to 25K an acre for residential and a couple of Million for commercial so it would take Bill Gates money to get it moved.. LOL) It would be a great old house if somebody wanted to spend the $$$ on it though.... It's right down the road and I will snap a few pictures of it and post them here soon.

All the Victorians here have to go by the town rules so they keep em up to date and the paint colors and all that stuff and they are always over $1,000,000 so I can't get one of those.

The wife has always wanted me to go back east to Indy or Ohio and pick up one of the nicer old house that have been taken care of but still cheap compared to here.

Her relatives are from Ohio

Pennsylvania would be on the list too.

I wouldn't fall for any of that haunted house stuff either joker

But I can't sell my place....ever.

My house is not big.....just 2 story but it is in a Victorian style but I still have plenty of finish work to do here and this was my 6th summer on the project.

But I tend to have one problem or another trying to slow me down and this sept 11th was pretty much like my 2001 version.

But I still have plans for next spring and I plan on doing it all myself since paying somebody eats too much cash and not to mention I don't let many people through the gate either lol

If I found a place it would have to have a good sized lot or piece of property since moving a house is not on my bucket list wink

You all should see the old Vic's on Main St in Delta, Cardiff and Whiteford..I love all that old gingerbread around the homes.

There was a home they were getting ready to put the wrecking ball to a few miles from here to build a tractor parts store on the lot, I mean literally the wrecking ball was on site. One of the oldtimers was there to watch and commented that the house was built in the 1860's..Well before they could start the crane up to do his thing, they researched it.

The entire house in side was built with Chestnut..Floors, cabinets, mouldings..You cant get Chestnut anymore. Needless to say they put the crane away and put the home on the auction block. It went dirt cheap, 125,000..And the high bidder moved it 3 miles up the road, and had it refinished, about a 4 year project..I get to ride by it everyday to anf from work..neat stuff..
