Well I'll be damned, if it wasnt on sale, an Oct 50% off sale..So we are all signed sealed and booked 7 months in advanced. Blue Water here we come. _________________ |

| St. Martin has been our favorite for years. Been there 3 times, and I generally take the approach that there are so many places I've not been, I don't want to do repeats. Except when it involves diving... That's on the opposite end from the airport, isn't it? NE side of the island? |

| The cove, on the NE side of the island, is called "Anse Marcel" and, at the time, the resort was called L'Habitation (now called Le Meridien). After the first trip to St. Martin in 1991 (where we stayed on the Dutch side), we discovered the many beautiful beaches and areas on the French side and always stayed at one of the places there. Our last trip there was in 2000. The airport is near Maho and there's a great bar on the beach near there where you can sit and watch the planes coming in for a landing almost right over your head. No way would I spend any quality beach time at that place. We'd always go in early April and often had an entire quiet beach to ourselves. It's a small island and you can rent a car and safely drive around the place, stopping for a dip at whatever beach invites you, in a day. We did that one year! Snorkling doesn't compare to that at some other islands but we did snorkle at Pinel Island off St. Martin and it wasn't bad. Good memories of St. Martin. . . great beaches, friendly people, awesome cuisine, and lots and lots of topless foreigners. _________________ If life hands you melons, maybe it means you're dyslexic.

| Yep, it was Le Meridien when we were there. Just "stumbled" upon it as we took a drive around the island checking out all the beaches. We stayed at the hotel right there by the airport bar... as I recall, the Heinekins (sp?) were only a buck and a half! It was fun watching people stand in the water and get "blown away" by the jet wash on takeoff! Saw some guy go in the water with his video camera to tape the take off and get tumbled into the water - camera and all - by the jet wash! Outstanding! |

| When I win the lottery tomorrow I will buy a new copy of The Robb Report and will buy a nice secluded Island somewhere for private BC use only.... LOL I've got it all planned out too.... I will get the island, declare it my own country... then I will start shit with the USA and the UN... then when they send an envoy to my island I will promptly surrender and sit back and reap the billions of dollars of humanitarian aid they will then send to the island..... My money problems will then be solved forever.. _________________ linux rocks

| One of my drivers at work just purchased a time share in St Martin's..I thought about it, but then the thought of making 3 meals a day and then purchasing alcohol, quickly changed my mind back to you cant beat all inclusive..Theres over 800 Caribbean Islands, all 800 are on the bucket list. Man I want to dive so bad, but I cant get the Mrs to do it..So I guess I'll just be the king of snorkel. I think I'll throw on the St Maarten's on a future trip, Dutch side or French side? Dutch are ignorant or at least the vacationers in Aruba were. _________________ |

| Maybe you guys need to buy one of the San Juan Islands in my part of the world since you travel like a bunch of the Hollywood elite
In my last 23 year I have made two trips to this foreign land called "Indianapolis"......stopping in a lakeside place they call "Chicago"
So I have been around the world on my satellite dishes and the computers
I need to win the lottery too......but then I have only tried once and nothing happened
But you travelers should always bring a camera because some day you will have to just stay home and sit on the couch and look at those places.
Videos are even better........not that I have done that but I have seen others do that and they were going around the world for almost 90 years.

| Took my camera, Magic. Here's a shot from a St. Martin beach of another island in the distance. You do see the mounds in the distance, don't you, guys? The mounds in the distance, I say. Cravn, if you go, do the French side. The French can be a little "uppity" but there are much nicer beaches and great restaurants in the Grand Case area. _________________ If life hands you melons, maybe it means you're dyslexic.

| I love mountains.. If you want Mountains, St Lucia is the place to be, unfortunately our camera was stolen in Miami in May so I dont have many pictures. I googled the Pitons for you..Oddly enough the tallest Piton is called Baby Piton. the Mrs and I snorkeled directly under Baby Piton. Oh and Piton Beer was great!!! _________________ |

All I see is sand and mounds.........you mean there is water in the picture?
The weather changes here but I see the mountains and water every day.
Must admit I haven't seen any topless swimmers since the old party days at the lake when the hippy girls would show up
Lots of divers around here but the water is a tad colder I imagine.
The Olympic mountains in a place called Hurricane Ridge

And the San Juan Islands here (over 450 islands with 250 sunny days a year)
